Tracked boom lifts
Spider lift hire
A spider lift is a compact boom lift on rubber tracks. It drives with the boom stowed, then sets up on four outriggers that level the machine before the boom rises. The narrowest models pass a garden gate or a wide single door, and larger ones need a wider route. Hire one for a single job or a longer project, with the price shown on every machine.
Because a spider lift is a boom-type platform on tracks, it is often called a tracked cherry picker. Operators need IPAF category 1b.

Questions
- Is a spider lift a cherry picker?
- Yes, in everyday use. A spider lift is a boom lift on tracks that works from outriggers, so it is often called a tracked cherry picker.
- How much does spider lift hire cost?
- Each machine page leads with the price for a week's hire, inc and ex VAT, and lists hires from 2 days in a table of prices by hire length. Delivery and collection are priced by your postcode before you pay. The optional damage waiver is included by default, and you can remove it by uploading your own hired-in plant insurance (HiPI) certificate.
- What IPAF category is a spider lift?
- Spider lifts are IPAF category 1b, static boom, because they work from outriggers rather than driving while raised.
- Will a spider lift fit through my gate?
- Measure the narrowest width and lowest height on the way in. The make supplied can vary, so ask us for the stowed width, height and weight of the machine and compare them with your route before you book. Allow for the space the outriggers need once it is in place.
