Hire a Lift

Indoor slab scissors

Electric scissor lift hire

An electric scissor lift runs on batteries, so it is quiet and has no exhaust. Slab scissors are built for smooth, level, firm floors: warehouses, shops, offices, atriums and finished concrete slabs. Most run on non-marking tyres that will not scuff a finished floor, and the narrow models pass a standard double door. Hire one by the day or the week, with the price on every machine before you book.

A scissor lift only moves vertically, so it has no outreach and is never a cherry picker. Electric slab scissors are for smooth, level surfaces; for rough or soft ground, choose a rough terrain model.

Questions

Can I use an electric scissor lift indoors?
Yes, that is what they are built for. They have no exhaust and run quietly, and most have non-marking tyres. Check the stowed width, height and weight on the machine page against your doors, lifts and floor.
How much does electric scissor lift hire cost?
Each machine page leads with the price for a week's hire, inc and ex VAT, and lists hires from 2 days in a table of prices by hire length. Delivery and collection are priced by your postcode before you pay. The optional damage waiver is included by default, and you can remove it by uploading your own hired-in plant insurance (HiPI) certificate.
What IPAF category is an electric scissor lift?
Anyone operating a self-propelled scissor lift, electric or rough terrain, should hold an IPAF PAL card for category 3a (mobile vertical). Each machine page shows its category.
Can an electric scissor lift work outside?
Only on a firm, level, sealed surface such as a car park slab, and within the wind rating on the machine page. Many slab scissors are rated for indoor use only. For grass, gravel or uneven ground, choose a rough terrain scissor lift.
How long does the battery last?
Usually a full working day of normal use. Charge it overnight from a standard socket on longer hires.
