About this machine
Spider lifts run on rubber tracks with low ground pressure, so they can cross lawns and rough ground that would stop a wheeled boom. Once in place, four outriggers level the machine on slopes within its limit, and spreader pads go under each foot to spread the load.
Larger spider lifts like this are wider and heavier than the small models, so they suit building fronts, roofs and tree work behind walls or fences where a wheeled boom cannot get close. Plan for a wider access route, and ask us for the stowed width and weight of the machine supplied before you book.
Diesel power and a sturdy chassis suit outdoor sites, rough ground and long shifts away from a charger.
This listing is for the size and power type. The exact make supplied can vary, so check the machine details with us before your hire if a particular model matters.
Good for
- Tree surgery behind walls and fences

Frequently asked questions
- What licence do I need to operate it?
- Operators should hold an IPAF PAL card for category 1B (static boom platforms). We can point you to training if you need it.
- How high can I reach?
- The published working height is 33m (108ft 3in). Working height assumes a person of average height standing on the platform, so leave a margin for tools and fixings.
- Can I use it indoors?
- It is built for outdoor work. Diesel power and a sturdy chassis suit outdoor sites, rough ground and long shifts away from a charger. For indoor work, choose an electric or hybrid machine.
- Is delivery included?
- Yes. Delivery and collection are included in the hire price. Some areas, such as Greater London and Scotland, carry an area surcharge, and the postcode check on this page shows it before you book.
- What does the price include?
- The main price is for a week's hire of the machine at our week rate, inc and ex VAT, with the 2-day price under it. A machine without a week rate shows its 2-day price instead. Optional damage waiver included. Hold your own HiPI? Upload your certificate to remove it. Delivery and collection are included, plus any area surcharge for your postcode, and other hire lengths are priced when you pick your dates.
