About this machine

A trailer mounted cherry picker is a boom lift on a road-towable trailer. It sets up on four hydraulic outriggers that lift it off its wheels and level it, then the jointed boom reaches up and over walls, porches and conservatories.

It is a static boom, so operators need an IPAF PAL card for category 1b. Allow room for the outriggers once they are down, and firm ground or spreader pads under each foot.

Figures shown are the manufacturer's published figures for the Niftylift Nifty 210, a common machine in this class. The make supplied may vary, so we confirm the exact machine and its figures with your quote. The Nifty 210 has traction drive as standard, so it can drive itself into position on site. At 3,495kg minimum weight it is close to the 3,500kg trailer limit for a car licence, so check your licence and towing vehicle carefully, or ask us to deliver it.

Good for

  • Roof and chimney work
  • Large trees and tall hedges
  • Building facades and high signage

Frequently asked questions

What licence do I need to operate it?
Operators should hold an IPAF PAL card for category 1B (static boom platforms). We can point you to training if you need it.
How high and how far can I reach?
The published working height is 21m (68ft 11in), with up to 12m (39ft 4in) of outreach. Working height assumes a person of average height standing on the platform, so leave a margin for tools and fixings.
Can I use it indoors?
It depends on the build. This class is made with diesel or bi-energy (engine and mains) power. Battery and mains power are quiet with zero exhaust emissions at the point of use; engine power is for outdoor work. Choose the power option for where you will use it and say which one in your quote request.
How heavy is it, and can I tow it?
The published minimum weight is 3,495kg, and the build supplied can weigh more depending on its power option. GOV.UK says a car licence passed from 1 January 1997 covers a trailer of up to 3,500kg maximum authorised mass (category BE). Check the trailer's plate and that your vehicle is rated to tow it, and we confirm the weight with your quote.
How much weight can the platform take?
The safe working load is 225kg, which covers everyone on the platform plus their tools and materials.
Is delivery included?
Delivery and collection are priced with your quote, by your site postcode. Tell us the postcode and dates in the enquiry form on this page.
