Where these figures come from

About this machine

Rough terrain scissor lifts have a diesel engine, foam-filled tyres and outriggers that level the machine before it rises. At this height the outriggers come as standard.

At 2.34m wide and about 7.5 tonnes it is an outdoor machine: check the route, the ground and any covers or slabs it will cross.

Figures shown are the manufacturer's published figures for the Genie GS-5390 RT, a common machine in this class. The make supplied may vary, so we confirm the exact machine and its figures with your quote. The Genie sheet used is the ANSI edition; the European (CE) edition can rate the deck differently.

Good for

  • Steel erection and cladding
  • Outdoor building sites
  • High-bay industrial builds

Frequently asked questions

What licence do I need to operate it?
Operators should hold an IPAF PAL card for category 3A (mobile vertical platforms). We can point you to training if you need it.
How high can I reach?
The published working height is 18.15m (59ft 7in), platform height 16.15m (53ft). Working height assumes a person of average height standing on the platform, so leave a margin for tools and fixings.
Can I use it indoors?
It is built for outdoor work. Diesel power and a sturdy chassis suit outdoor sites, rough ground and long shifts away from a charger. For indoor work, choose an electric or hybrid machine.
How big and heavy is it?
Stowed, it is 4.88m long, 2.34m wide and 3.15m high, and it weighs 7,515kg. Check doorways, gates, lifts and floor loading against those figures before you book.
How much weight can the platform take?
The safe working load is 680kg, which covers everyone on the platform plus their tools and materials. That is the maker's most restrictive rating for normal use; its sheet also gives 227kg on the extension deck when extended.
Is delivery included?
Delivery and collection are priced with your quote, by your site postcode. Tell us the postcode and dates in the enquiry form on this page.
